A common trap is to hire staff just like yourself! People you like who have the same skill set, and who act and think in the same way. This can be dangerous. You also need people who will challenge you and the current status Quo. That’s how real change and improvement happens.
So next time you hire think about this: it may be slightly less comfortable for you personally but it may actually be good for the business. True growth only happens just outside of our comfort zones.
